Spring brings something out in me! I NEED change. For example, last week I switched the furniture around in my bedroom and our living room! It helps me get things clean and it gives me a new way to look at things. I need that in my life...it helps me feel better about things!
So, in the vein of change, I have decided to change my blog to http://forevermusicmom.wordpress.com. Hope to see you there and hope that it does me good to change!!

3 Things
I'm grateful for:
1. Timeouts! For my child's benefit and even more so, for mine. We have taken a HUGE step backwards on the potty training frontier, and without that 'timeout', my son's bottom would be VERY black and blue!
2. Friends--far and near! You help me remember that I'm not alone with my SAHM frustrations and I'm not the only one that is feeling like a single mom right now!
3. My Dad! He came today and fixed an irrigation riser that was broken (actually he broke it last fall when he drove over it in his truck) and needed to be fixed before they let the water into the irrigation lines. My hubby had every intention of fixing it, but between his two jobs, he is rarely home. I was stressing out that we were holding up our neighbors on irrigating their fields. Now, I don't have to worry, and hubby doesn't have to skip work tomorrow to get it fixed! Thanks Dad!
I hope that everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather as much as I am!! I love to feel the wind from the open windows sweeping through my long flowing locks ...oh wait, I don't have long flowing locks. Sorry, I must be dreaming...time for bed I guess!

STRESS!
I've been thinking about all different things that I stress about, as a SAHM. At lot of people don't even realize that SAHM's stress about such things. Most think we just stay at home and clean the house and watch TV or play on the computer. I will admit, that I love to do my Weffriddles, but there always seems to be something plaguing my mind. Here is a list of some of my stressers.
**my kids safety! Yesterday they took a 'fieldtrip' down to the rushing creek below our house...by themselves! Our boy also spent some time in the middle of the busy highway on Saturday...just following the dog.
**my kids obedience! I want SOOOO badly for them to be good kids and to choose the right. They seem to have other ideas in mind and don't think that what I ask them to do is all that important.
**finances!!! We make it by, pay the bills, have a little bit left for groceries but that's it. How are we supposed to be able to pay either rent or a house payment, once the missionaries get back? It would so be nice to not have to constantly worry when I buy something, if we will be able to make it through the next two weeks!
**my hubby's job! This, of course, goes hand in hand with finances. He was promised a raise after three months of working. It's been 9 months now and still nothing. He approached his boss about it about a month ago and was told that he would definitely get one, a good one, the boss just needed to talk to his second in charge to get an exact amount. 2 1/2 weeks later, after hearing nothing back, Jody pushed his boss for an answer and was told, "nevermind, we decided that we're not going to give you a raise. Besides, you don't really need it."
**my hubby's happiness! I want him to be happy with his job, have he energy to be happy with his kids when he gets home and with me after the kids are in bed. I know that bit more 'action' would really make him happy, but I can't figure out how to read his 'signs' and after a certain time...well, I'm just pooped!
**keeping this house put together! Living in someone else's house, trying to keep their stuff nice, while not letting our stuff rott in storage, hoping my kids don't break EVERYTHING...it's hard!
**my physical fitness! I'm working at it and not seeing many, if any, results. That is VERY frustrating. I'm trying to plug along anyway, just because I know I should, but....grrrrr!
**my spiritual fitness! I teach the 17-18 yr. old SS class with my husband. I love the kids and I love the material. Every time I bear my testimony to the kids, I have this nagging doubt in my head that I'm only saying the things I know I should, but don't necessarily really have a firm conviction in. We went to the temple last week on our ward night and my mom talked about how she was prompted to put someone's name on the prayer roll (turns out it was my son's and maybe that's why he isn't floating in the creek or smooshed on the highway), and another lady was so emotionally touched that she bawled all the way through the end of the session. I don't feel like I EVER have experiences like that. I want to believe that I do, but I don't! I now it's probably because I need to learn more about my Savior and really draw closer to him. Maybe I jsut don't really know how.
**I'm a faker! I've really thought int he past 24 hours, that most of my life has just been gotten through by my faking it. Maybe I should have been a drama major because I seriously feel like I'm just pretending most things. And I'm afraid that I have done a great job at fooling everyone, including myself!
Well, there you have it. There are many more, but my hands are getting tired. Maybe I'll do a sequel tomorrow.

Beautiful Things
Well, today is Wednesday, and I'm actually remembering to post my beautiful things for today!
1. The sound of silence! My kids are in their rooms, hopefully nodding off to sleep. My husband has a baseball meeting, so it's just me and my computer. Wonderful!
2. Sunny, warm days. We have had a lot of gloom and rain lately, so it's nice to be able to feel springy again!
3. Smiles from my kids. They are getting into the fighting with each other stage, so when they are happy and smiling at me and each other, it makes for a very happy mom!

3 year old logic
Here I am, thinking life is getting better. K is outside playing with his best friend...our dog Molly. He has already done a job once today, in the appropriate place, so I am feeling successful!
Then a strange odor accosts my nose from downstairs. I rush to check it out and there he is wiping his hands off. I ask him why and he said he went poopers. "Where?" I asked him. "Outside," he replied without a second thought.
Oh My Goodness! He has taken to pooping outside!!! I ask him if he's a dog...a cat...a little boy? Thankfully he answers that he is a little boy and goes on to let me know that little boys go in the potty, not on the ground like the dog and cats. "So," I say, "why did you go poopers on the sidewalk? Why didn't you go to the potty?" Quite simply he states, "but mom, I couldn't find one out there!"
Oh, the logic of a 3 year old!

Riddles
Ok, I'm on to something new. My friend April started me on these riddles and now I'm hooked and am wasting or thinking my time away on these. So, I don't know that I'll post very much. Besides, I'm kindof feeling a lack of anything to blog about anyway.
Try the riddles out, it's fun....and hard!

Good ol' cartoons
Tonight my kids were watching Boomerang. We have a free preview of it for a while on our dish. It's a cartoon channel that plays all the cartoons that we grew up with, not the stupid ones that are out now on Cartoon Network and that. The kids were watching Tom and Jerry and just laughing their guts out! It was so nice to hear them just giggling away. It made me miss the old days, when the cartoons were just silly. Now, unless you watch Nick Jr., Disney, or PBS, you don't dare let your kids watch the cartoons for fear of what they might see (at least, I don't!) Isn't it scary that cartoons have as much questionable content in them as primetime tv? I don't get it! Oh well, I don't get a lot of things!
